The Magic of Rocca di Arignano: Your Dream Italian Wedding Venue

Set in northern Italy, just outside the historic city of Turin, the Piedmont region is renowned for its refined charm, rolling hills, and world-famous vineyards. Turin, the region’s capital, is a city where elegance and history converge. Known for its grand piazzas, Baroque architecture, and cultural landmarks—such as the Mole Antoneliana and Palazzo Reale—Turin serves as a sophisticated gateway to this remarkable part of Italy.

With its luxury hotels, Michelin-starred dining, and reputation as the birthplace of the Italian aperitivo, Turin is the perfect starting point for those exploring Piedmont. Excellent transport links—including an international airport and high-speed rail connections—ensure effortless access for visitors from across Europe and beyond.

Just a short drive from Turin, nestled in the picturesque Piedmont countryside, lies Rocca di Arignano. This meticulously restored 11th-century castle, brought back to life by Luca Veronelli and Elsa Panini, seamlessly blends historic grandeur with contemporary elegance. The result is a venue where modern sophistication meets timeless romance, offering couples a truly unforgettable setting for their celebration.

Beyond its breathtaking medieval architecture, the castle boasts six elegantly restored sleeping rooms, where guests can immerse themselves in centuries of history while enjoying luxurious materials such as velvet, raw iron, and fine linen. For those who appreciate culinary experiences, Rocca di Arignano’s Scuola di Cucina offers interactive cooking classes focused on regional traditions and seasonal ingredients, making it a perfect pre-wedding activity for couples and their guests. The venue also hosts a curated calendar of cultural and gastronomic events, including historical tours, local food festivals, and outdoor excursions, such as cycling through vineyards and guided visits to its panoramic rooftop terrace. To unwind, guests can indulge in rejuvenating massages in the intimate Dolii Locus, a serene spa retreat within the castle walls.

Sonia Petrazzi, event and wedding planner, is the creative force behind this vision, developed with photographer Davide Bonaiti, and a fantastic team of partners who made an outstanding contribution to the success of the project. With her extensive knowledge of the region and years of experience, Sonia ensures that every aspect of the celebration is thoughtfully planned and perfectly executed. For this styled shoot, together with the team, she developed a concept that highlights the venue’s historic charm, showcasing its versatile spaces that can host weddings and celebrations for up to 160 guests. The shoot was designed to give a true sense of what the venue can offer for couples looking to create memorable experiences in a dramatic setting.

The ceremony took place beneath an ancient tree in the castle gardens, where natural beauty and historic charm set the stage for a truly memorable moment. A majestic black horse, provided by Varetto Cavalli, added a touch of drama.

The bride, styled with effortless grace by Letizia Cordella, embodied timeless beauty in an exquisite Elisabetta Polignano gown. Delicate jewelry from Maison Parada and La Vue Milano, paired with a statement hat by Patrizia Fabri, added a contemporary twist to her look. Thoughtful details—lingerie by Cristina Aielli and a chic Fregoli Italia handbag – completed her ensemble. Meanwhile, the groom exuded effortless refinement in bespoke attire from Casamivida and Laura R. Style, perfectly finished with handcrafted Francesco Lanzone shoes.

The design narrative, envisioned by Marco Segantin and the team at Centro Noleggio, embraced a palette inspired by the castle’s natural surroundings – earthy tones accented with subtle metallics. The tablescapes, curated by Olympia De Molossi, showcased artisanal ceramics and vintage-inspired glassware, striking the perfect balance between medieval elegance and modern sophistication.

After the vows, guests gathered in the grand hall, where long medieval-style tables were draped in hand-dyed linen and surrounded by candlelight. They enjoyed a feast of traditional Piedmontese cuisine paired with local wines, while a champagne tower added a touch of glamour. As night fell, the rooftop terrace became a magical space for dancing under the stars, with string lights and lanterns creating a romantic, timeless atmosphere. For those who envision a wedding where history meets modern luxury, Piedmont—especially the incomparable Rocca di Arignano—delivers an experience that is nothing short of magical.

Captured in stunning detail by the talented Davide Bonaiti, the shoot was then transformed into a cinematic masterpiece by Emma Wilson, the Creative Director of Story Of Your Day.
