The 2024 Met Gala celebrated the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” and the official dress code was “The Garden of Time.” Drawing from over 400 years of fashion history, and on view until September 2, 2024, the exhibition’s pieces include designs by legendary designers such as Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy, and more. The always-anticipated gala, a.k.a the “First Monday in May,” was a maximalist blooming of garden floral patterns, whimsical motifs (think winged creatures, underwater urchins, a range of eras from English Elizabethan onward), and lots of dreamy, vibrant color!
Inspired by the theme and its beautiful flora and fauna, we’re thrilled to present this exquisite style shoot now gracing the cover (and 12 glorious pages!) of WedLuxe Magazine: Toronto & Vancouver Edition. Huge kudos to the Toronto-based creative team (credits below!) who gave us these #weddinggoals inspired by The Met Gala and the Sleeping Beauties exhibition.
The Garden of Time styled shoot seamlessly merges the opulence of the Met Gala with the refined, romantic allure of weddings. Our goal was to redefine bridal style by showcasing extravagant couture gowns from the Fall 2024 collections of Ines di Santo and iconic designs by Berta and Eisen Stein, from White Toronto. We were honored to feature the exceptional former Miss World Canada, model, and actress Cynthia Menard as our muse for this extraordinary shoot.
When designing the Garden of Time Editorial, we drew inspiration from J.G. Ballard's original novel and the opulence of the Met Gala. Our aim was to create an atmosphere that was vibrant, sophisticated, elegant, magical, and lush.
