Face masks are the ultimate self-care product. When else do you get to take 20 minutes out of your day and do something just for yourself? Besides being a much-deserved mini-break during the morning of your wedding, face masks can also be the key to achieving that highly sought after bridal glow. WedLuxe talked to beauty expert, Michelle Lee, founder of skincare brand, MaskerAide, about why face masks should be your new bridal best friend!
Why are face masks so great for your skin?
“They act as an incubator for your skin. The mask blocks the air from the skin and enhances the skin temperature, which causes the pores to open and increases the skin’s metabolic rate. They also promote sweat gland secretion, increasing the oxygen content within the skin, allowing for better absorption of vitamins and nutrients. The intense and quick surge of hydration from one mask plumps up the skin with needed moisture eliminating the signs of dehydration, dryness and ageing. How often should brides use a face mask to ensure their skin glows on the day of their wedding?
“Six months in advance, 2-3 times a week is ideal; however, even 1-2 months works as well. Gently exfoliate the skin first and then apply the hydrating sheet mask for the best results. And definitely remember to do a mask before makeup application on your wedding day!”
