Bernard and Emily’s story started the way the best ones do: quietly. They shared the same personal trainer but trained at different times of day, never crossing paths until a group dinner finally brought them face to face. An Instagram exchange led to a year and a half of dating, then a proposal at Bernard’s Japanese restaurant, where family and friends had been secretly gathered. Planned by Fleur Weddings & Events and held at One King West, their Gatsby-inspired wedding went all in on the Roaring Twenties.
Theatrical Flair and Jazz Age Glamour
From the moment guests arrived, they were transported. Showgirls in sequinned gowns and feather headpieces welcomed everyone with rolled “newspapers” announcing the marriage and trays of artisanal chocolates. The entire evening was designed as an immersive experience, not just a wedding. Emily wore a dramatic black couture gown that shimmered under golden light, setting the tone for a night that was bold, theatrical, and completely unforgettable.
Champagne Towers, Scent Bars, and Surprise Performances
The highlights kept coming. A champagne tower framed by velvet drapery, a custom scent bar where guests created their own perfumes, and choreographed dance performances alongside a live Jazz band. During dinner, Emily surprised guests with a short performance, then Bernard followed with a playful dance alongside invited dancers. The energy in the room was electric. This was a celebration designed to be experienced, not just attended.
