Roger and Kaleigh De Lambert’s wedding was the perfect blend of Bridgerton-inspired romance and Parisian elegance, unfolding like a real-life period drama with a modern twist. From a historic church ceremony to a candlelit ballroom filled with lush florals and theatrical details, the day felt effortlessly cinematic and utterly enchanting.
Kaleigh Ford and Roger De Lambert first met in 2018 on the dating app Bumble. From their very first conversation, everything felt natural, easy, and genuine. Their first date—a simple evening of dessert and a movie—marked the beginning of a relationship grounded in shared Catholic faith, mutual trust, and a love of travel and food. Over time, they navigated long distances while pursuing individual goals, with Kaleigh on an academic exchange in Paris and Roger completing graduate studies in Boston. That time apart only strengthened their bond and deepened their connection. In the summer of 2022, Roger planned a surprise proposal while Kaleigh was still living in Paris. He told her they had an early “sunrise brunch” planned, a recommendation from a local friend. As they walked across Pont Alexandre III, a violinist began playing “La Vie en Rose,” and Kaleigh assumed it was a street performer. She had no idea Roger had arranged everything, including a hidden photographer to capture the moment. With the Eiffel Tower in the background, Roger took her hand, expressed everything he was feeling, and got down on one knee. Through joyful tears, Kaleigh said yes. The moment was intimate and completely unforgettable.
The couple enlisted Grace Barbosa-Chin of Express Yourself Weddings & Events for full-service planning. Grace worked closely with them and Roger’s mother throughout the two-year planning process, overseeing every element from concept development and vendor selection to timeline management and day-of coordination. The ceremony was held at Toronto’s St. Paul’s Basilica, followed by a grand reception at The Fairmont Royal York.
TRANSPORTIVE & THEATRICAL
The reception, held at the Fairmont Royal York, was designed not just to impress, but to transport. From the very beginning, Kaleigh and Roger prioritized their guests’ experience, planning a celebration full of unexpected moments—including a “champagne dress” performer who floated through cocktail hour, offering bubbly in the most whimsical way.The transformation of the hotel’s Canadian Room was striking: velvet linens, mirrored and crystal accents, and modern furniture were layered against a palette of soft neutral tones, creating an atmosphere that felt both timeless and theatrical. Floral design by Rachel A. Clingen featured trailing tablescapes, grand urns, and floral trees that added texture and dimension to the space.
SURREAL STILLNESS
Before the festivities began, Roger and Kaleigh shared a private moment in the reception space—a quiet pause to absorb the result of two years of planning and collaboration. “One of our favorite memories was stepping into the reception space together for the first time, before the guests arrived,” shares Roger. “Seeing everything we had envisioned come to life, from the florals to the candlelight and music, was surreal. After all the planning, it was a quiet, intimate moment where we could take it all in together before the celebration began. It was the calm before the excitement and a memory we will always treasure.”
HARMONIC WELCOME
As guests entered the Concert Hall, they were greeted by the rich harmony of an a cappella choir. “Our goal was to create an experience that our guests would remember just as much as we will.” -Roger De Lambert, Groom
DRAMATIC FLAIR
Throughout the evening, a rotating cast of live entertainers brought energy and unexpected charm to the celebration—accordion players wove through the crowd during cocktails, dueling cellists added dramatic flair during dinner, a full choir elevated the atmosphere with layered harmonies, and a fire dancer captivated guests late into the night, each performance offering a new wave of surprise and delight.Following the wedding, Kaleigh and Roger embarked on an unforgettable honeymoon through Spain, Italy, and the South of France. Now back home in Toronto, Kaleigh continues her career as a teacher, while Roger works as an associate vice president in investments.
