The Couple: Pinky & Wayne
Before formally meeting, Pinky had noticed Wayne due to his resemblance to her childhood idol. Eventually, they were introduced by a mutual friend. Their first date? A colorful Fall hike, where Wayne shared a tale of a daring encounter with a bear. Pinky, listening intently, was quite taken by his charisma. However, as they spent more time together, she uncovered a humorous twist: Wayne, for all his tales of bravery, was equally skittish about bugs as she was which became a playful tease between them.
The Proposal
Seven years later, Pinky believed the couple were just out for a family brunch, but a secret plot was afoot. Afterward, the group headed to a vineyard, indulging in tastings and meandering through the vines. But the real surprise was by a serene pond, where Wayne stood under a picturesque canopy before grand “MARRY ME” letters surrounded by hundreds of white roses. Overwhelmed, Wayne’s voice trembled, partly due to Pinky’s playful demand that tears were a prerequisite for a “yes.” Amidst his heartfelt proposal, the strains of “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran resonated from a harpist, and to everyone’s delight, Wayne’s family appeared, adding to the magic.
The Wedding Day
May Ma of Fleur Weddings and Events Inc. planned the wedding while the company’s founder, Flora Peng, designed the spectacular event, working with her floral company, Infinitude Design to create innovative flower arrangements. The ceremony was designed with grand gold structures that shaped the 12-foot-tall by 24-foot wide arches, providing a striking contrast to the overall white motif. Intricately suspended fringe and hanging flowers created a dreamy ambiance, lending softness to the clean, structured design.
The overall design balanced opulence and simplicity.
The Fashion
Pinky wore three gowns, “…all bought and altered in a bold, risky time crunch of three months!” she shares. The first, a red sparkly backless dress was worn during the tea ceremony and after-party. The second was a ballgown-style wedding gown worn during the wedding ceremony. The third and final dress was a sparkly blush pink gown with feather accents for the reception. Pinky wore jewelry from Van Cleef & Arpels, David Yurman, Piaget, and Christian Dior throughout the wedding day. Wayne wore a black velvet tuxedo paired with Christian Louboutin Dress Shoes, a Rolex Watch, Mont Blanc Cufflinks, and his Piaget wedding band.
