Sinji and Jeffrey met through work in August of 2014. They both held summer jobs as poker dealers at the CNE, and it wasn’t long before they began dating. After dating for five years, Jeffrey proposed! It was August 2020 (when Covid restrictions were briefly lifted) during which the couple were celebrating Jeffrey’s birthday with a small group of mutual friends. While the group was singing “Happy Birthday,” Jeffrey entered holding a Chanel bag (with the engagement ring box inside!) and flowers for Sinji.
On June 11, 2022, the couple’s wedding day began with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, followed by a Western ceremony decorated with blush florals and greenery. While planning their wedding, Sinji and Jeffrey wanted to incorporate their casino meet-cute into the design inspiration without leaning too far into a Las Vegas theme. So, they chose the colours red and gold for their reception decor, and the results are stunning!
