Mandy and Brian met at a high school reunion dinner in November of 2014. A friend of Brian’s introduced them, and the rest is history! Brian proposed to Mandy at a hotel in downtown Toronto with an extravaganza of roses and balloons.

to plan and design their August 14th, 2021 wedding with a decidedly “modern” style. The wedding date was significant as it is the same day as Chinese Valentine’s Day and a day after the bride’s birthday. Both the ceremony and reception took place at Spencer’s At The Waterfront.

The ceremony backdrop design was modern and mirrored. Since Mandy loves hydrangeas, they were the primary bloom used in the design, intermixed with mirrored spheres. The arch frame itself was rented from Engineered Arts . Everything was designed to be the perfect blend of asymmetrical yet balanced.

The decor at the wedding reception consisted of candles galore! From floating candles on the guest tables and high-end electric candles on the floor for safety reasons. Since guests were unable to dance due to COVID-19 restrictions, florals from the ceremony aisle were moved to the center of the room to creatively “fill” the unused dance floor and provide a stunning focal point. As the guest count was forty people a special wedding sign was designed with the couple’s wedding date and forty custom icons (all relating to the wedding!) for guests to choose and sign their name next to.
To celebrate Mandy’s birthday, LiMa Cakes made a special cake which Brian surprised her with! LiMa Cakes also designed the show stopping two-meter-tall geometric wedding cake which was a design highlight and sat atop a rotating table.
