A reluctant Cassandra joined her sister Aly on a fundraising boat cruise in 2015. Within the first five minutes, she met Marc, a friend of Aly’s boyfriend’s brother. “Like me, he decided to go to the fundraiser last minute. It sounds cliché, but we were inseparable all night,” shares Cassandra.
After talking and dancing the night away, the duo knew they shared an incredible connection. Their chance encounter ended with a post-cruise late-night pizza run where they exchanged phone numbers. One week later, they were on their first “official” date.
On a beautiful summer day in 2019, Marc proposed to Cassandra during a romantic trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake. He planned an incredible few days of romance with tours at multiple wineries, including an extraordinary stop at Two Sisters Vineyards, where he had pre-arranged the assistance of a winery guide to help him pull off a perfect proposal! Upon arrival, they were taken to a private picnic table overlooking a beautiful pond to begin a wine tasting. Their guide started with a guessing game where each bottle was covered so that the couple couldn’t see the labels.
“We tasted three types of wine, and as I uncovered the third type of wine to see if my guess was correct, to my surprise was a label that read “Will you Marry Me?” Cassandra recalls. “I turned around in shock, and Marc was there on one knee asking me to spend forever with him. So, of course, I said yes without hesitation and was overwhelmed with so many happy emotions!” Marc had even hired a photographer to capture the moment, but the surprise didn’t end there! As the newly-engaged couple walked back towards the building to enjoy lunch, both of their families appeared to join the festivities and share a celebratory toast.

The reception was held at the Aga Khan Museum. In the open-air courtyard of the museum, guests were greeted with an impressive outdoor cocktail area that was designed to emulate alfresco events in Italy.
The reception featured a 24ft long wooden bar that offered guests premium selections, European cigars, and signature Italian drink specialties. The dance floor was printed with a cobblestone pattern, produced and installed by
