Monica and Luca were first introduced through mutual friends on Monica’s sixteenth birthday in Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square. They dated for around a year, deciding to “just be friends,” but everything changed a year later when Monica’s brother suddenly passed away, and it was Luca who immediately stepped up to support her—he’s never left her side since!

For Monica’s 25th birthday, Luca had arranged for the couple to return to the place they first met for a romantic evening of ice skating, dinner, and an overnight stay at a hotel. While the idea of a proposal may have crossed Monica’s mind, she was sure Luca wouldn’t propose in the middle of Nathan Phillip’s Square with so many people around! “He sure proved me wrong! He got down on one knee in front of thousands and made my 25th birthday one to remember.”

Their wedding took place on September 7th, 2019, and was nothing short of enchanting! “My overall theme was a white modern romance, I always envisioned my day to be crisp, clean yet romantic with a sensual feel. I felt combining white, black and gold would ensure my vision coming to life,” shares Monica.

Magical, enchanting, modern and sleek. These are a few of the adjectives we had on our design board for the wedding. When Monica met with me and we were discussing the design of the event, she wanted something classic and everlasting over the years, while having unique elements that made it stand out from the usual white and black wedding.
