It wasn’t until years after graduating from the University where they first met that Veronica and Daniel went on their first date, but they were destined to be married! The two rang in New Year’s Eve 2019 with a proposal atop the Dream Hollywood hotel, overlooking the iconic Hollywood sign. As Daniel got down on one knee, a hostess caught the entire proposal on video while onlookers gave their congratulations, “People started clapping! It was epic!” remembers the groom.

In September of 2020, the couple held their wedding and reception with the help of Fabulous Occasions, who provided full-service planning and design assistance for the Versace Mansion-inspired event. Despite challenges faced due to safety restrictions, the couple found their silver lining in financing extravagant Versace-like upgrades, including an elaborate dining experience for the reduced guest count.

This wedding was first featured in the Summer/Fall 2021 Toronto Edition of WedLuxe Magazine.

The wedding invitation by So Pretty in Print was designed and printed on gold, mirrored acrylic, and featured an outer ‘gate style’ folder with a custom illustration mimicking the prominent gate of the Versace Mansion.

Wild Theory Floral and Event Design provided floral design including Veronica’s hand-tied bouquet. A special team effort and surprise memento attached to the bouquet provided emotional impact. Knowing Veronica’s parents could not attend the wedding in person, event planner Malvina Chevolleau approached Daniel with an idea and offered to source a locket. The goal was to include a picture of Veronica’s parents in her bouquet so she could feel as if they were walking down the aisle with her in spirit. Daniel approved (and loved!) the idea. He provided the photo to florist Daniela Miceli-Perri, who placed it into the locket and attached it to the bouquet. “Seeing the bouquet and the photo of my parents in the locket was one of my favourite moments and a very special surprise,” remembers the bride.

It was very challenging to plan given all the changes and uncertainty. However that's with everything in life. It was the truest example of "nothing worth having comes easy." And, it truly ended up being the best party of our life!

After the ceremony, the wedding party returned to Daniel’s parent’s residence for a photo session. Wild Theory Floral and Event Design embellished the on-property gazebo with an abundance of white floral overflowing from top to bottom, creating a dreamy, dramatic photo backdrop.

It was the massive golden gates that really set the Versace mansion theme. With the gates placed all throughout the room, and the walls and white roses, it felt as if everyone was in an intimate courtyard.
