Elisia and Justus first met over a casual conversation at the Fairmont Pacific Rim’s lobby bar in January of 2014 but didn’t have their first date until four years later when they reconnected through social media and embarked on a business meeting-turned night out with friends. “From the moment I met Justus, there was a je ne sais quoi about him; I knew he was special. He was and always has been the most interesting and intriguing person in my life. I was enamored by his confidence, charm, and just cool and fun disposition,” shares Elisia. Some years later and, while visiting the iconic London Eye, Justus surprised Elisia with an elaborate proposal to the tune of “their” song, “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran.
In 2020, the couple returned to the place they first met for their wedding ceremony and reception, planned with the help of Alicia Keats from
Alicia Keats Weddings + Events Inc.
, who helped them navigate COVID-19 safety regulations and achieve their dream wedding. “When the pandemic became worse, we had to switch gears, change our wedding date, and of course reduce our guest list to under 50 people. Nevertheless, our vision for the day remained the same. We wanted opulent decor and florals. As many flowers, candles, and chandeliers as possible!” explained Elisia.

As a long-time fan of designer Inbal Dror, Elisia jumped at the opportunity to visit her flagship store in Isreal to find the gown and veil of her dreams. “I got to meet her and try on all her incredible creations that I have loved over the years. I found the perfect dress, of course. It was a Cinderella moment for me,” shares the bride.
Neda Emami of Éclat Decor Inc. draped the entire tent to create a soft, intimate atmosphere for the ceremony. Neda’s idea to cover the entire tent floor with white panels resulted in the design feeling completely ethereal. Clear Louis chairs, crystal chandeliers, and lighting for the ceremony arch were also provided by Éclat Decor Inc.

The ceremony was originally planned for 275 guests in the Emerald Ballroom of the Fairmont Pacific Rim, but after several postponements due to COVID-19, principal planner Alicia Keats from Alicia Keats Weddings + Events reworked the design for a smaller guest count in the outdoor tent of the Chairman’s Suite Terrace. “Plan B” worked out perfectly as justus had originally wanted an outdoor wedding.

The reception took place at the Fairmont Pacific Rim’s Botanist Restaurant. Planner Alicia Keats redesigned everything for the smaller guest count and to ensure guests could enjoy a safe and physically distanced reception.
