Yvonna and Graham first connected in 2015 over the popular Jewish dating app, J-swipe. Yvonna, a law student at the time, had a catchy bio that read “the law says to swipe right.” The bio caught Graham’s attention and gave him some great opening lines leading to the couple’s first date at a restaurant in downtown Toronto, where they ended up talking for seven hours! Needless to say, the relationship continued from there.

After a heartfelt proposal that included dressing up the couple’s two cats, Leo and Cleo, in bow ties, Yvonna said “Yes!” and the couple began planning their glamourous “Winter Wonderland” themed wedding with the help of Designed Dream Events.

“We wanted people to experience a warmer, more lavish, more decadent side of winter. Our goal for our wedding day was that when people entered the ceremony and reception areas, they would have their breath taken away. We wanted to go above and beyond people’s expectations,” shares Yvonna.

Yvonna’s strapless satin bridal gown featured crystal beading on the corset, with a crystal beaded belt and long beaded train. Fancy Face Inc. provided all hair and makeup services for the big day.

We can narrow down our favourite parts of the day to two moments. The first was when the reception space was revealed to us, and we saw the stunning design. The second was when we read each other our vows. It was beautiful to hear the words we had written for one another and be able to make our vows in front of our closest family and friends.

Dolce Vita Cakes created the couple’s five-tier cake, macaron wedding favors, and the sweet table complete with cake pops, croquembouche, and meringues. The couple and their guests enjoyed an action-packed evening of entertainment including an aerialist, four dancers, and performances by a live band and New York-based singer Eduard Rubin.
