Carolyne and Moses were first introduced online when a church leader connected them from their respective British Columbia and Pennsylvania locations. Their first phone call lasted almost four hours, and from there the calls quickly became a nightly ritual! “It was too magical to describe,” shares Moses. “We had never met each other, and this was the first time we talked, yet we felt like we had known each other for many, many years.” Once they had met in person on a trip to Los Angeles in January of 2020, Moses knew Carolyne was ‘the one,’ and when the perfect moment struck just before Valentine’s day, he popped the question!
Carolyne and Moses’ vision of a romantic and elegant wedding was brought to life in March of 2021 with the help of Liting Chan of Paradise Events . “Her enthusiasm, dedication, and responsible attitude towards her work surpassed our expectations. Her ability to respond to emergencies helped us before and during the wedding day,” shares Carolyne.

Taking a note from the British Royals Paradise Events created a simple yet stunning bridal bouquet for Carolyne using lily of the valley.
One of the couple’s favourite moments of the day was just as they were preparing for their first look on the patio of their stunning corner suite at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. A full rainbow appeared in the ocean behind them. “Words cannot describe how beautiful and how stunning the entire scene was. We could prepare a dream venue, the most elegant gown, but we could never have prepared a real rainbow!” shares Moses.
Co-founder [of Paradise Events] Liting Chan designed a breathtaking, statement-making floral arch that sat on a white stage as the ceremony’s focal point. Covered in thousands of blooms, including white phalaenopsis orchids shipped in from Holland, it framed the couple perfectly.

Carolyne wore the Casablanca gown from Shine Moda, which was inspired by Ingrid Bergman and Casablanca’s intricate architecture. It had beautiful detailing around the neck and bodice with thin silk ribbons woven with crochet and French embroidery.
