We wanted to bring a secret garden fairytale to Vancouver in the middle of winter. Everything had to be soft and delicate with lush floral arrangements and lots of candlelight,” shares the bride. Shireen looked stunning in her custom Farzaneh Vaziri Collection gown and veil from Iran. While she accessorized with multiple jewellery pieces, such as a Luxia Jewelry headpiece, the emerald ring was particularly special as it had been passed down from her grandmother to her mother on her wedding day.

“Both Shayan and I are Iranian; however, I grew up in the United States, and Shayan grew up in England. Because of this, we had two different ideas of what ‘traditional’ meant. We wanted to combine both of our worlds, so in addition to our civil ceremony, we also had Persian (Iranian Sofreh Aghd) and Baha’i ceremonies. Combining these cultures and allowing our family and friends to experience the two worlds coming together was very memorable for both of us,” shares Shireen.
