Chloe and Jiang’s wedding from our new Fall 2020 issue is giving us all the autumn feels! The overall theme of the day was inspired by the bride and her father’s background—fine arts. “ I wanted an intimate, outdoor wedding that was uniquely elegant while providing the best experience for my guests. I only wanted to feature things that I truly loved, so I spent an entire year shopping for my wedding from different countries,” shares the bride.

For their traditional ceremony, the bride paired her Long Feng Gua gown with a custom-designed bridal fan from China with pearls and a gold phoenix.

The bride (being a UX designer and fine art aficionado!) created all of her own wedding stationery. Inspired by Monet’s paintings, she wanted the floral motifs to appear as if they were growing from the ground.

Our bride's mother passed away a few years ago, so we kept a small photo of the two of them hidden inside the bouquet.

Chloe and Jiang chose to have their first look before the festivities of the day began. The two had pre-written letters to each other and took turns reciting them before revealing their wedding day ensemble. Planner, Rose Yao from Fleur Weddings and Events Fleur Weddings is a specialty wedding planning company focusing on the needs of Asian clientele.... More | Message  and Alina Tacmelova from Flowers Time worked closely to achieve Chloe and Jiang’s dream design. The overall theme of the day, reminiscent of Monet’s Garden, was inspired by the bride and her father’s background-fine arts. “The floral used for this wedding was an important focal point that made it really unique. The rich and varied flowers represented a beautiful painting of a secret garden. To give the ceremony an organic and overflowing floral feel, we placed the centrepieces naturally around the frames by Engineered Arts . The rest was surreal and dreamlike,” shares planner Rose Yao.

Guests were transported into a vibrant and artistic vintage garden for the reception. Nude and peach candles accompanied by an abundance of wild blooms added an extra glow of warmth to the celebration.
The dining tables looked exactly like I had always envisioned, as if a painting had come to life!

Chloe’s artistic expression was also evident in the small paintings that she created for each guest which sat at each place setting. In keeping with the wedding’s vibrant color palette, Chloe and Jiang opted for a peach, three-tier cake adorned with wild blooms. The confection was inspired by one of Chloe’s favourite oil paintings, “Still Life with Flowers in Glass Vase,” by Jan Davidsz de Heem.
