Dana and Sebastian’s wedding has 24k magic in the air! “The vision for the wedding was to create a luxury black-tie event. I wanted to play off the venue’s accents, so I revolved the concept around gold mixed in with deep rich colours,” shares Dana. What we especially love (besides everything!) is the unique color pairing of burgundy, white, and gold that is giving off some major metropolitan vibes. Read more about Dana and Sebastian’s wedding in our new Fall 2020 issue, out now!

“Ever since Sebastian and I watched Grey’s Anatomy (where we first heard the phrase ‘you’re my person’) we started using it. We added the word “forever” as it seemed to fit the occasion!” – Dana

Dana was no minimalist bride! For her wedding day ensemble, she wore a princess-style Pnina Tornai gown that featured twelve layers of tulle and horsehair. To add even more drama, she wore a hoop skirt underneath and added crystallized off-the-shoulder sleeves.

The couple shared their first look at Mint Room Studios prior to the ceremony. “Before the wedding, I joked with my husband-to-be that if his reaction to seeing me for the first time wasn’t grand enough, I would walk out, and we would have to do it again. It turns out one take is all we needed; as soon as he saw me, he broke down and cried for five minutes straight,” shares Dana.

While gold was incorporated into all aspects of the reception design, the night’s clear focal point was Dana and Sebastian’s geometric head table. Engineered Arts designed a custom backdrop complete with gold stands and mirrors. Flowers Time then created a hanging floral installation, creating some serious metropolitan vibes. The rest of the decor added a merlot-hue to the celebration and culminated in spectacular heart-shaped centrepieces.

If I had to use one word to describe our wedding day, it would be magic!

Dolce Vita Cakes designed not one but three square cakes, using pink marble and deep purple as the base colors. The gold detailing and light pink flowers added an extra touch of glamour and contributed to the entire reception aesthetic.
