International Fine Art Wedding Photographer, Corina Van Sluytman, had always envisioned creating a visual story at a French Chateau, “with a cinematic quality…where each photo was a puzzle piece to tell the entire intriguing story.” The Chateau of choice for this dream realized was Chateau de Villette (forty minutes from Paris) because of its historic nature and the beautiful limestone and surrounding gardens.
Chateau de Villette epitomizes elegance, luxury, and the famous French expression “art de Vivre.” The site was originally designed by architect Francois Mansart for the Count of Aufflay and later completed by his great-nephew, Jules Hardouin-Mansart, chief-architect of Louis XV, who also oversaw the construction of Versailles at the same time. Similarly, the splendid garden was designed by André Le Notre who also created the famous gardens of Chateau de Versailles. Thus, earning Chateau de Villette the nickname of Le Petit Versailles (Little Versailles).
