Alicia & Joshua true love. true luxury.
High school sweethearts Alicia and Joshua were engaged after ten years of dating. The romantic proposal took place at the couple’s favourite Italian restaurant in Toronto. Joshua had pre-arranged to have a special dessert platter served at the end of their meal. When their server presented a dessert with the words “Will you marry me, Alicia?” written in chocolate, Joshua bent down on one knee and proposed.
The couple were married on June 22, 2013. Melissa Samborski of ONE FINE DAY EVENT PLANNING + DESIGN INC. provided full-service planning and design services for the celebration. Alicia had a clear vision of what she wanted her special day to look like and worked closely with Melissa to bring her dream wedding to life. “Melissa was there for us every step of the way and made the whole process much easier,” says Alicia.
Alicia wore a princess-style gown by Pnina Tornai with a custom veil from KLEINFELD BRIDAL in New York and later changed into a white Marchesa cocktail dress for dancing at the reception. Her pearl earrings were a gift from a close family friend and her diamond necklace was from her grandmother. Alicia’s hair was styled by Miranda Robinson and Rachel Pento at FLAVIO’S HOUSE OF HAIR DESIGN. Makeup artist Alicia Franchino completed her look. The bridesmaids wore ivory, mermaid-style gowns by Monique Lhuillier from WHITE TORONTO. They accessorized their gowns with chandelier-style earrings and Jimmy Choo patent-leather pumps from DAVIDS FOOTWEAR. Joshua wore a Tom Ford tuxedo.

Guests were seated in gold Chiavari chairs that were tucked into tables topped with tall centrepieces made primarily of ivory and cream roses with hints of blush pink. Floral and event decorators John and Tina Scalzo of Covers Couture Decor & Floral Design provided the floral and decor for the grand reception.
Patricia Drewnowska from Patricia’s Cake Creations created a towering, six-foot tall showstopper wedding cake that was a focal point of the decor. The cake featured thousands of hand-painted sugar flowers in hues of soft blush and creamy whites.
