How did you first get involved in the wedding industry?
I’ve been involved in the special events industry since I was in my teens. Not knowing at the time that working in events would become my lifelong career, I quickly grew within the industry. 30 years later, I’m still very passionate about what we do here at Luxe and continuously think of new and innovative ways to bring the best experience to our clients!
What do you love most about your job?
I especially love bringing fresh ideas and new products to the market and from those, seeing the reaction of guests who walk into a room. The glowing thank you letters and notes we’ve received over the years make all of our hard work and efforts worth it every day.
What has been your most memorable client experience to date?
It would be difficult to single out just one. We’re thankful to have been involved in some pretty spectacular weddings. I will say the ones that really stand out are when we’ve worked with clients that gave us carte blanche and allowed us to do what we love. Having the team come together to design something new and different always results in that special feeling when the hairs on your arm stand up as the bride and groom see the space for the first time.
What does your typical work day look like?
There is nothing typical about this industry and that’s one of the things I love about it! Some days are back-to-back meetings with clients talking about their vision and how we can bring that to life, and some days are more about problem-solving and troubleshooting to get things just right on an install. Thankfully, we have a great team here at Luxe who come from all different areas of the industry and all put their best into making our clients’ dreams come true.
Can you tell us a little bit about the Luxe Modern Rentals team?
I am more of the front-end person; I cultivate relationships with our clients and the top planners, florists, and other industry people, while one of my partners is the creative energy and the other is the one that makes the production department run. From there, we have an amazing team of collaborators, including associates that work on floor plans, in-house graphics, design, customer care, product maintenance, and customization.
What is your current guilty pleasure?
If we are talking about work, I definitely have to say adding new pieces to our inventory. There is no shortage of great product out there and we often want to buy it all! Other than that, I’ll stick to some great sushi and sake!
What’s next for you and your company?
Luxe has been constantly evolving for close to 15 years since the brand was launched. We remain the only rental company in the city that has an in-house graphics department with a multitude of printing capabilities. There are many new plans on the horizon to expand in this area and to bring more customization to events, ensuring that each one is completely different and special in its own right. Stay tuned!
