Dasha and Andrew’s love story began on a Halloween night during high school, when they met through a mutual friend while trick-or-treating. Despite attending different schools, they felt an instant connection: Andrew was dressed as a cowboy and Dasha as a bunny. This chance encounter laid the foundation for their future. Over the years, from high school sweethearts to a married couple, their journey is a testament to the beautiful union of two cultures—Italian from Andrew’s side and Ukrainian from Dasha’s—melded into one Canadian life centered around a mutual love for pasta!

with wedding planning and event design by Tracey Mcateer Events. A courtyard cocktail hour featured an electric harpist, oyster shucking, and bespoke cocktails before a fun champagne tower presentation led to the announcement to enter for dinner.
WILD THEORY FLORAL AND EVENT DESIGN transformed the venue into a floral fairytale combining peonies, ranunculus, roses, and various other blooms. Mirrored tables and domed arches with chandeliers added innovation to the romantic ambiance.

Dasha’s love for cake inspired the custom ‘Funfetti’ flavor. A gelato cart was also added so guests could have ‘cake and ice cream.’ A Ukrainian Korovai, (wedding bread) was also served to symbolize the Ukrainian community’s blessings upon the wedding. Over 40 Ukrainian dancers wearing traditional costumes performed two exciting shows during dinner. “They included the couple and their parents into the dances. It was so well done!” shares event planner Tracey McAteer. A live band also performed all evening, from the moment the doors opened. The couple and their guests also enjoyed a late-night Southern comfort food station and a photo booth station.
