In February, our Editor-in-Chief visited the nearly-new five-star, award-winning, all-inclusive Grand Velas Los Cabos, and declared it “one of the best all-inclusive resorts in the world.” Here’s why.
Romantic Experiences
A visit to Grand Velas Los Cabos is all about discovering romance. This tropical paradise is made for brides and grooms-to-be looking for that perfect destination wedding venue, or newlyweds after the most luxurious of honeymoon locales. More than golden sand beaches and sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez, Grand Velas Los Cabos specializes in romantic experiences – private movie screenings under the stars, stargazing for two, a four-course dinner with wine pairings prepared in-suite, and beachside picnics, to name a few. They even offer a “Night of Romance” package (which doubles as a fairytale proposal setup in case you’re so inclined), consisting of a four-hour yacht excursion complete with cocktail hour canapés, a bottle of champagne, a four-course dinner, beautiful floral arrangements, a private fireworks show, a yacht suite decorated with flower petals, and a live musician. Can you imagine anything more romantic?
Wedding in Paradise
Grand Velas Los Cabos makes it easy to say “I do” in paradise. Lavish guest suites, gourmet cuisine, a top-notch salon and spa, a personal wedding coordinator, and not one but four unforgettable venues await. From classic opulence in the Convention Center to panoramic views at Terraza del Mar, the resort’s oceanfront terrace, your destination wedding can be whatever you want it to be at Grand Velas Los Cabos. They can accommodate weddings with up to 500 guests at a cost of $120 USD per person, and even have an in-house wedding planner that will take care of flowers, decor, entertainment, photography, and catering. (That said, couples are welcome to work with other service providers if they wish, and Grand Velas Los Cabos personally recommends Elena Damy, Del Cabo Events, and Marianna Idirin.) As an added incentive, the resort is pleased to offer each couple a complimentary upgrade to their Grand Class Suite (it has ocean views AND a private plunge pool!), the use of the bridal suite, and one complimentary suite for every eight suites booked (to a maximum of two).
Honeymoon for Two
When it comes to honeymooning at Grand Velas Los Cabos, you’re in for a treat. From the ocean view suites and lavish spa to the seven gourmet restaurants and premium bars, there is nowhere better for a little post-wedding relaxation. More than luxurious amenities, the resort recommends (and can even arrange) a variety of romantic activities, including snorkelling, horseback riding, whale watching, camel ride tours, luxury sailing, and a “Brunch at Sea” experience. Or if you prefer a quiet night in, the concierge can decorate your private jacuzzi with rose petals.
Mar del Cabo
The sister property (and next-door neighbour) to the Grand Velas Los Cabos is Mar del Cabo, a stylish, boutique hotel with beachy vibes and fresh ocean breezes. The ideal spot for a more intimate wedding, their facilities can accommodate up to 100 guests at a cost of $200 USD per person (includes the ceremony, cocktail hour bar, reception, four-course plated dinner for all guests, and a total of five hours of open bar service). Speaking of accommodation, Mar del Cabo’s Penthouse is as luxurious as it gets, with a living room, dining area, and two bedrooms, all decked out with modern amenities. It truly is the perfect spot for a couple on their honeymoon or a bride and her bridesmaids getting ready for the big day.
