For an All-American wedding or relaxing honeymoon, look no further than the Hamptons — the ideal summertime playground located just a few hours from Manhattan. The destination is the prepster’s paradise, immediately bringing to mind seersucker print, the Jitney bus and fashions by quintessentially American designers like Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. Spend your days bicycling through town, picnicking at the beach or shopping at the designer boutique outposts on Main Street, many of which are only open during the summer months. Stay at one of the grand-yet-cozy estates lining the beach (if you’re lucky enough to be invited to one!), or at local hotels like Capri Southampton or the ever classic The American Hotel.
We were particularly enamoured by the Hamptons-located wedding designed by Mindy Weiss (with flowers by famed floral stylist Jeff Leatham!) that took place over this past weekend. If you’re considering the area for a destination wedding, look at venues recommended by celebrated event planner Marcy Blum such as Wölffer Estates or Topping Rose House.
