With yesterday marking the last day of “Fashion Month,” this is our final Fall-Winter 2015 trend round up and what better place to finish than in belle Paris?
METALLICS
Stunning gilded gowns came down the runway in collections from our favourite designers like Valentino and Balenciaga. We love these statement making dresses for a red carpet appearance or a black tie wedding.
THE RED MOMENT
The one thing almost every collection had this week was a “red moment.” At some point, often in the middle of the show, one solitary red look came down the runway breaking up a sea of dark and drab winter shades. This moment happened in countless shows, but we particularly loved the looks from Elie Saab, Alexander McQueen and Nina Ricci.
FRINGE
Like at London Fashion Week, fringe continued to be a big trend in Paris as well. Some designers, like Olivier Rousteing at Balmain, used it heavily throughout their collections, while others such as Anthony Vaccarello used it quite sparingly and only as a statement accent. We predict fringe will be a major trend at bridal market week in April as well.
PASTELS
Another carryover trend, this time from Milan Fashion Week, is pastels. Typically expected at springtime collections, designers this season are going against the norm and showing these cheery shades for winter.
FUR COATS
We love a statement making coat, especially as a winter wedding topper. The PFW designers presented great options this season, but we particularly loved Stella McCartney‘s very real-looking faux ivory coat.
NECK TIES
The seventies trend showed no signs of stopping with the neck tie, a major throwback trend from the decade, being shown in collections across the board. We love this feminine detail when paired with a high neck gown.
ROYAL BLUE
A more wintery shade of the ever popular cobalt blue that has been so popular as of late, this rich shade used by designers like Zuhair Murad and Chloé falls somewhere in between cobalt and navy.
RED CARPET WORTHY GOWNS
We love a Red Carpet Roundup, and can’t help but keep our eyes peeled for gowns we predict we’ll be worn by our favourite celebs at premieres and award shows this year. Jessica Chastain has already declared her love for this red Givenchy gown on her Instagram account.
WINTER WHITE OPTIONS
Last but not least, we present to you the white options from the shows. From gowns to jumpsuits and everything in between, white ruled the runway in various shades. We love the crop top options shown at Juan Carlos Obando for a fashion forward bride.
