In one of the most anticipated weddings of the year, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin finally tied the knot this past weekend! So far, the details of the Venice wedding weekend give some of the most luxe inspiration imaginable.
In a show-stopping entrance, the groom led a caravan of boats down the Grand Canal to the Aman Canal Grande hotel (exterior above, interior below), the jaw-dropping location of the ceremony and reception.
The ceremony took place on Saturday at sunset. Exchanging personalized vows, the couple wed under an arch of roses. After the quick ceremony, guests enjoyed a five-course meal from Italian chef Riccardo De Prà and his team. The guest list was small, only 100 in attendance, but included Anna Wintour, Emily Blunt, Bill Murray, and many more of the world’s most stylish.
George, always one of the most well-dressed on the red carpet, wore a black Armani tuxedo to the wedding and a grey suit to the civil service. Though images of the bride’s gown have not been released yet (it has been confirmed that she wore Oscar de la Renta), Amal looked stunning the day after in a white Giambattista Valli Couture mini dress with colourful floral detailing. She also looked amazing the night before in a red and black Alexander McQueen gown that she wore to her bachelorette party. In the Monday morning civil service, Amal wore a Stella McCartney trouser suit in cream paired with a matching hat.
