Stephanie and James were married on May 23rd, 2010. The couple wanted their wedding day to be very romantic and every bride’s dream. ‘It was truly beautiful like an old world fairy tale and most importantly we had each other, our son and our family and friends. ‘ The couple felt the Fairmont Chateau Laurier was the perfect romantic venue for their special day.
The Dress: Stephanie’s very light champagne coloured dress is a Romona Keveza, from Mia Bridal. ‘The owner of the store who I bought my wedding dress from, Antonella from Mia Bridal Company, actually chose my wedding dress for me’, says Stephanie. ‘I wasn’t even going to try it on but she asked me if I would and as soon as I did I fell in love with it. She also had the best veils!! I wanted the biggest veil I could find, full length in the front and very long in the back.’
The Shoes:Jimmy Choo with lots of crystals, 5″ high. ‘They are so beautiful and they look like bejewelled works of art. To this day I have not told my dad how much they cost! They currently sit in a glass case in my childhood bedroom.’
The Bridesmaids wore a classic floor length dress, in an antique purple colour with custom made jewellery
from True Bijoux.
The couple chose to have their ceremony and reception at the luxurious Fairmont Château Laurier. ‘It has a lot of warmth and charm,’ says Stephanie. ‘The theme we went for was old world romantic. Our colours were gold and cream with silver accents and lots of sparkling candles.I hunted for months for our extremely large candelabras at each table with the long tapered candles. We also wanted very dim lighting. It was an evening ceremony so I wanted the lights as low as possible so that it had a romantic cande light feel to the room.’
Floral: Stephanie had designed all of her floral for every aspect of her wedding. ‘I had custom wreaths done at the base of each candelabra with hydrangeas and white roses. The bridesmaids carried black purple calla lillies I thought this matched their dresses perfectly, and the groomsmen had matching ones on their suits as well. Jamie wore a single white calla lilly to match my bouquet.’
