We’re completely enchanted by this all-white, winter wedding captured by Mimmo & Co. Christine and Kyrollos were married last February with Enaya Rabba of EME Inc. providing full-service planning and design assistance for the celebration. Christine wore a stunning Ines Di Santo gown that she accessorized with a Tom Ford jacket as the bride and groom traveled between venues. Fuscia Designs decorated The Grand Luxe Event Boutique with beautiful floral displays for the reception, including an arrangement of white orchids and roses that covered the newlyweds’ head table and romantically dripped down to the floor.

On December 19th, 2008, Yasmineh spent the day with her mom in Yorkville. What she didn’t know was that Saman had flown in the night before (he was continuing his studies in Atlanta at the time). So, it was a total surprise when she turned around to find him walking towards her. With three red roses in his hand, he knelt down and proposed. Yasmineh was so shocked that she could not speak! He then led her into a limo and they arrived at the Canoe Restaurant to find all of her family there waiting. It was a beautiful night of joy and celebration.

(WedLuxe): Was there a specific theme or mood you were trying to to achieve on your wedding day?

Yasmineh: “Saman was away through most of the planning so I really wanted to make sure he was part of the day. The Palais Royale was the perfect venue. It was downtown so it had the city element which was true to my nature and then it had a beautiful waterfront scene and a feel that resonated with Saman to the fullest. I wanted our guests to feel the two of us in every detail. I wanted them to feel elegent yet comfortable.”

How did you personalize your wedding day?

“We both believe strongly in giving back. We made a donation in the name of each guest to MAHAK Society to Support Children Suffering from Cancer in Iran. They do an exceptional job of taking care of kids whose familes have no means to pay for their treatment.”

What was the most luxurious aspect of your wedding?

“The historic Palais Royale Ballroom is absolutely stunning. We saw this venue in spring of 2009 while we were planning our engagement party. As soon as we walked into the venue, we knew that we wanted to be married in this exact place. Incidentally, the next open date was July 2, 2011 which would be our 6 year anniversary. We never looked at another space. The old world feeling of the venue and the stunning lake view is what captivated us.”

What is the most important info you think readers should know about your wedding day?

“Our wedding was a celebration of our committment and love. It was an intimate gathering of all the people that are important in our lives – family and friends that have given us love and support through the years. It was a beautiful and memorable day which will always bring a smile to our faces. I couldn’t have asked for more.”

Who was your favourite wedding vendor and why?

“Mimmo & Co. was hands down my favourite. I woke up on the day of the wedding with the worst cold and Mimmo had to work with my constant sneezing and red nose. You would never know this from looking at the photos. Mimmo is an artist! He captured the most raw moments from our day.”

Yasmineh wore a beautiful silk-chiffon and macrame lace gown by Giambattista Valli. She also wore a a custom made veil from Vera Wang, Toronto – a 120″ long cathedral mantilla in Ivory with french chantilly lace appliqués and gold metallic thread. Stunning!

“Christine (from Custom Made Wedding Cakes) designed the cake using my dress and our invitation as inspirations. She designed a five-tier white cake with gold borders and flowers. The cake was a multi-flavour of Pastachio, Bananna and Chocolate. It was DELICIOUS! Our guests loved the taste of the cake and it was gorgeous.”

Aliya and Eric were married on November 20, 2010. The couple incorporated both their cultures and backgrounds (Christian-Muslim) by having two opulent ceremonies in one day. The reception was held at the romantic Palais Royale. “The day was an extravagant and deeply romantic whirlwind.” -Aliya

Personalized boxed stationery for each of the bridesmaids was just one of the many special details that made this wedding memorable. With a theme to combine nature and modern luxury, pine cones were placeholders for sleek place cards, menus and a gorgeous seating chart was foil stamped in silver and featured letter pressed peonies by Deb at Palettera. Fiona from Stemz co-ordinated an elegant backdrop of peonies and orchids.

Who was your favourite wedding vendor and why?

Deb Lau at Palettera. Her stationery set the tone from the beginning and punctuated the most important moments with beauty and clarity.

What was your favourite moment on the wedding day?
The moment we first saw each other prior to the wedding ceremony at University of Toronto West Campus.

-Aliya and Eric
