Vanessa, the beautiful bride shared her own thoughts on her GORGEOUS wedding:
Location/Theme: The theme of the wedding was modern romance. Both Jordan and I live in the city of Toronto and wanted elements that reflected our urban lifestyle. We chose a very central downtown location for the wedding and ceremony keeping it all under the same roof. We love Toronto’s harbour front and thought a hotel with a lake view would be the perfect spot.
Décor: I work in the fashion industry and Jordan in media so we were able to accomplish a lot of our look by using our professional work knowledge and talent. This gave us the ability to spend more in other areas. With the assistance of friends the venue was transformed. We used wall draping which was back lit with television lighting and purple gels and gorgeous damask table linens that set a romantic mood.
Flowers: The room was stocked with White hydrangea, bright green spider mums, and tall birch branches with gems off-set in unbrushed steel containers. The mix of wood and metal elements combined to give us our modern contemporary look.
Stationery: I designed and printed all of the stationery for the wedding. This included invites, menus, guest name cards, table numbers, candy buffet signs, and wish tree cards all the way down to the thank you card found on the guest gifts. I would recommend this to any bride who is looking to add a personal touch and who has some graphic design abilities.
Style: My style was a mix of contemporary and vintage. I had the fascinator custom made. It had layers of off white ostrich feathers and a beautiful sparkling vintage brooch. My French netting veil was measured and cut exactly to sit angled on my face. My dress was accented by jewelery purchased locally from vintage stores in the downtown core. But the most special piece I wore was my grandmother’s antique bracelet.
