Crystal and Marc were married on April 23rd, 2011.
The intimate ceremony and reception took place at The Victorian Restaurant in Saskatchewan.

THE SHOES:

“My shoes were designed by Jimmy Choo and I purchased them from Jimmy Choo in Las Vegas.
They were gold open toed platform pumps and were very sparkly!” says Crystal.

THE RING AND ACCESSORIES:
The engagement ring was a custom designed square cut diamond set in round
diamonds with an eternity band.

“My accessories were borrowed from Simply Posh which is a local vintage jewelry company that donates 100% of the proceeds to local children’s charities. My earrings and bracelet were made by the Canadian designer Gustave Sherman. The chandelier earrings and cuff bracelet were perfect accessories,” says Crystal.

THE FLORAL:

“Our favourite wedding vendor was our florist Carla Scharback of Blossoms. Having worked with the team at Blossoms with so many of the weddings that I designed, they were thrilled for us and their excitement showed in their product. All of the flowers were ivory containing gardenias, phaleonaopsis, alabaster garden roses, hydrangeas, lizianthus and freesia.”

THE DRESS:

Her gown was an ivory cocktail length with a ruffled, face-framing collar and was designed by Joanna Chen.

THE CEREMONY:

“Marc and I drove to the venue together for our evening ceremony in a chauffeured Mercedes
and joked about how surreal it started to feel. It wasn’t soon after we arrived and did last minute preparations that
we walked down the aisle together to a live acoustic version of Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight.” The ceremony
itself was intimate and personal, sharing the story of our life together thus far with our closest family and friends.
An especially touching aspect of the ceremony was when the officiate shared a beautiful reading titled “Blessing
of the Hands” as my new husband and I began our new life together as husband and wife. Our favourite line
was, ‘And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours,
still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch,'” remembers Crystal.

“The theme of our wedding was relaxed elegance. Our colours were gold, ivory and black
with crystal and rhinestone accents throughout the décor. The room was draped in gold fabric with the cosiness
of a fireplace in the background. Candle and par light bathed the room in a warm glow that made one feel they were part of an intimate dinner party. Our favourite design detail was the ceremony space. The venue was a restaurant made up of three large rooms that were each designated for a different portion of the wedding. The ceremony was held in a dining room in front of a beautiful fireplace. Trees draped in crystals, candles and orchids created the altar.
The lighting in the ceremony room was an extension of the fireplace’s warm glow and the gold chivari chairs and sashes tied with rhinestone buckles flowed perfectly with the color scheme. The ceremony was amazing and
we were both truly lost in the moment. I didn’t even know if anyone else was in the room!”

“The most luxurious aspect of our wedding was the décor. The restaurant was kind enough to allow us to
take almost everything out from the draperies to the chairs and work with a blank canvas. This allowed us to
create a beautiful space but required a lot of rentals, planning, and design. Being a wedding planner and
Star award winner for best wedding, people were expecting my special day to be traditional. However, I believe that
no matter what your dream wedding consists of, whether grand and elegant or small and intimate,
it should reflect the style and personality of the bride and groom,” says Crystal.

The biggest splurge was the extensive host bar with a variety of vintage Scotch and Rum
along with their signature martini. Marc and Crystal each had a signature cocktail reflecting their taste and personalities; Crystal’s drink was called a Malibu Barbie after her blonde hair and Marc’s was the Highlander
after one of his favourite movies.
